Top 10 items for your emergency wedding day kit

I have a small bag I bring to every wedding. I call it my Oh Shit Kit.

The reason: that is my go to phrase when I realize I forgot something: “oh shit!” Your wedding day is filled with unexpected surprises (especially if this is your first time getting married). Let me tell you, I have used something from this kit at almost every single wedding! If it hasn’t been for the couple getting married, it was for someone in the bridal party and even for guests.

Believe me: have it ready to go ahead of your wedding day and your future self will be very thankful that present you prepped for all possible scenarios.

  1. Pain Killers
  2. Band-aids
  3. Scissors
  4. Safety pins
  5. Fashion tape
  6. Bobby pins
  7. Tide To-Go pen
  8. Small sewing kit
  9. Tissues
  10. Snack (protein bar or the like)

I have to keep my Oh Shit Kit relatively small since it lives in my camera bag. If you’ve got more room here’s some bonus items that are incredibly helpful:

  • Crochet hook (For dresses with a lot of buttons)
  • Hydration packets (to add to your water)
  • Extra deodorant
  • Tweezers
  • Breath mints
  • Single use flossers
  • Tampons or other menstrual products
  • Makeup remover
  • Q Tips
  • Nail file
  • Lint roller
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Tums
  • Pepto-bismol
  • Imodium
  • Extra earring backs

Before the wedding, give your kit to someone you trust that can keep track of it so you don’t have to and that will be around throughout the day (a member of the wedding party, family member, or your planner or coordinator). This will definitely help you enjoy your day stress-free.
